We believe that overall safety and product quality are closely linked and take whatever steps are necessary to identify potential issues and resolve them before they become a problem.
By holding daily safety meetings and building a network of trust among our staff, we’ve been able to reach over seven operating years since our last loss-time incident. We regularly invite third parties to audit our facilities and ensure no small detail is overlooked, from housing all flammable items within fire-resistant cabinets to covering all slots within electrical panels.

Our Commitment to Quality
Over 30 years ago, D&M Plastics became one of the first ISO 9001-certified custom injection molders in the United States. For us, quality is built into our DNA. While most injection molding companies of our size have an external defect rate of over 1,000 PPM, D&M has an external defect rate of just 17 PPM. We implement the most sophisticated quality assurance tools and quality control processes in the industry.
To achieve this, our team closely collaborates to identify and eliminate potential challenges, and we ensure all machines are operating at peak performance. During production, we perform numerous inspections to make sure every part is within its specified tolerances. This includes quality, dimension, and visual inspections every 4 hours and press side visual inspections every 2 hours by the quality team and lead operators.
Our presses are equipped with cameras that are capable of identifying any quality issues. When an issue is discovered, the cameras will stop the presses and alert the D&M team so that we can quickly and proactively address it. For each one of our machines and parts we produce, our team follows stringent quality control procedures. We also implement thorough maintenance programs for every mold. In fact, several of our molds have been running reliably for over 25 years while exceeding one million shots.
About Safety Protocols
To deliver the best possible injection molding services, we train each employee on every machine and every program. This eliminates knowledge gaps and ensures orders can be completed both quickly and expertly. We also verify that our equipment is running smoothly at all times and equipment safety systems are engaged at all times. Every member of our staff is fully trained in proper safety procedures.
Our owner, Chip, has always made safety the number one priority at D&M. We hold daily meetings for our staff to share their ideas on how processes and methodologies could be improved. In addition, we invite our insurance company to visit our facility regularly to review our safety procedures, provide training and identify any areas where safety can be improved. Our employees also regularly attend risk management seminars to improve our operations even further.
Over time, these efforts have led to significant performance enhancements and, ultimately, better products for our customers. As an expert in high-volume injection molding, no project is too large or complex for our team. We operate over 30 presses, an ISO Class 8/100,000 clean room, and a fully equipped onsite tool room to ensure all production runs both efficiently and accurately.
